Gun owners of Santa Fe NM need your support!

Here in Santa Fe New Mexico they are trying to pass a high capacity mag ban and we need the support of everyone, not just those who live here to help stop this infringement upon our rights. I don't want to see New Mexico fall into the same deep dark hole that Colorado recently fell into.

Done. Though I have enjoyed spending time in NM in the past, including in Santa Fe, it's unlikely I'll have reason to return, as all my relatives there have died or moved away. But, when I was there, I enjoyed the relative recognition of personal responsibility and freedom there. I see no need to further infringe on either.

So what does that mean (legally) if NM has state preemption and a city passes a law anyway that ignores that? Philosophically, it means Santa Fe has no respect for the law and therefore cannot expect anyone to respect its laws.

It means a long and expensive legal battle which the gun owners of Santa Fe or New Mexico can ill afford to pursue. Be sure to add your voice to the petition, and take the time to email all of the city councilors listed in the linked list.
