gun parts--Grrrrr!

This seems like a no-brainer to me. The OP lost a part on his shotgun, and with a simple phone call he can get that exact part straight from the manufacturer for $10.49? That’s cheaper than a sandwich at many restaurants.

This thread reeks of entitlement. For some reason, the OP feels that Mossberg owes him that part at a cheaper price, even though he’s the one who lost it and there’s no warranty issues involved. I wish it was as easy as a phone call and $10.49 to get replacement parts for everything else I own.
I don't feel entitled I feel that its utterly ridiculous to charge so much for a screw and to charge triple the cost to ship it. I had a Christmas gift delivered yesterday that was ordered on the 20th with 2 day $75 extra to get it 2 day shipping and it arrived yesterday. Why does something that weighs about 8lbs cost $75 to ship from central Ohio to northern Ohio? Companies have a sense of entitlement that all of us have given them over the years. We need it and are forced to pay whatever it takes to get it and they know it. Its like I tried to do an oil change on a 2003 Chevy Malibu and couldn't find the metal oil filter under the motor so a call to the mechanic showed I needed a special GM only socket to remove the special plastic nut on top of the motor to get to the $15 paper oil filter. At a certain point that socket was not available to the public but was a dealer only tool. When it became available it cost me about $40.

I don't mean to sound rude but I highly doubt these companies have someone who was specifically hired and their sole job description is to find a bolt. I would guess that someone who is paid to ship and receive who handles hundreds of packages a day would have to walk 10ft, grab the bolt and stick it in a huge box with 4lbs of packaging to get the weight and size for the $7-8 shipping. When CVA sent me those Chinese made penny scope screws that strip out by even looking at them they came in a box I could have fit a size 14 boot into. all for 10 little tiny screws.

Now if midway or some other company carried the Mossberg only bolt I would have purchased it their along with other items to get my $7-10 in shipping's worth
