Hi:
For some weird reason, I've had two inquiries last week from casual acquaintances asking about prices of guns they're acquired from their deceased family members. Basically they want to sell the guns and these people are not gun people. Unfortunately these guns were not the type that I'm "into" so I couldn't really help them. Would you guys be able to give me a ballpark figure on these guns. I haven't seen them and don't really know their conditions.

Here they are:

1. Savage Model 19 NRA 22LR
2. FN Mauser Belgium 270
3. Remington 700BDL Varmint 223
4. Colt Match Target Woodsman 22LR

Thanks.

I've found the best way to get the real-world value of a firearm is to see what it's selling for on the auction sites.

Go to gunbroker.com and type in the name of each gun.

thats tough, it also depends on what part of the country you are in. As for me, it looks like none of those are under400, with the 270 maybe the most expensive. of course, I am assuming excellent condition , here.

Just did some legwork for you on Gunbroker, and there are examples of all your guns there.

1) A 'buy it now' of $400
2) Anywhere from 200 for a sporterized mil-surp to ~ $900
3) One 'buy-it-now' of $450
4) Depends entirely on variant and condition: Anywhere from $400 to $1500

how about

I give your friend 100 bucks. Friend ships to Mot's FFL win win

Thanks Hutch. I was able to get rough estimates for 3 and 4. Your input is greatly appreciated.
