Hi there.

I am looking for help in repairing a Model 60W Marlin. I know I just put the thing together wrong or am forgetting some little trick to fitting it together. If I get the thing together, the the bolt will not budge. If I assemble it so the bolt will move, the action assembly does not sit flush. I can take the thing apart with ease but getting it back together... ugh.

I have gone from New Port Richey to North Tampa and have yet to find anyone who will fix it. I either find the place closed or the owner feeds me a cock and bull story then asks me to spend more on fixing the gun than a brand new gun costs. I even had one guy feed me a line about how 'You are NEVER supposed to take apart a marlin. When it stops working, you just throw it out and buy a new one. They aren't MADE to be taken apart. If you bent the recoil spring it costs $45 to replace.'

Anyone recommend somebody in the Tampa-ish area who can fix a Marlin Model 60W? Heck, I am almost 9 out of 10 positive I just am forgetting to wiggle or shimmey something.

Try Peter Gunn (no I'm not kidding that's his name) in Pinellas County.

I just spoke with him and he said he can probably help you but he's on vacation until after 1/4/05, so please don't call him until then.

He's done some great work for me, and he's one heck of a nice guy.

I can't remeber the name of the place for the life of me . It has been ten years or so .:(

But get on the Skyway and as soon as you get of it on the way to Palmeto look to the left and you will see a gunshop/indoor range . If you see the Econo hotel place on the right you went to far .

I bought my very first gun there . 54 SKS.
