Does the law in Texas bar open carry in a business if that business says that it is okay on their premisis? It seems that if open carry were legal but they can deny you the opportunity because they are a private business, they could allow open carry on their property for the same reason.

No, the public areas of the hotel are covered under TX law. Open carry is utterly banned in Texas. Period.

I'd be there if there was any way...
But it's a tad too far... here in Australia just finding a place to host such a get-together would be a problem. The process of media and government vilification has advanced to the point that there would be much negative sentiment directed at the host.
Anyway, I hope it's a success and only the beginning of a trend of organizing Second Amendment supporters to be proactive rather than reactive to the global assault on RKBA
