What or how do yall keep from getting them gun safe gueens from getting ding up
Thanks

Some things you can try (or combinations of these):

1) Gun socks
2) Foam dividers
3) Install a small shelf where you can store ammo underneath
4) Use the back of the safe door for magazine pouches
5) Create protective slots for some guns, preferably out of a material that won't scratch and won't promote corrosion.

gun sock's there pricey nowadays. i got some new surplus swedish scarffs they are hollow and are just long enough to go over most rifles they were less then $5. and like above don't hit them.

I bought a pile of Brownells brand gun socks. About half the long guns and all the pistols are socked, and everyone's happier.

Yeah, gun safes are overrated, as far as volume. Sure ,one can stuff them, but safes only hold as much as one is willing to put in a safe to be "safe".

Your mileage & use may vary.........
i don't much care for safes, i have been in structure fires to see there is no such thing as fire safes. if i was not renting, i would make a closet with nice gun racks with a nice lockable door.

I put my long guns in socks...Walmart - 5 bucks. My hand guns are in pistol rugs. Some are in socks in the rugs. Some are wrapped in oily cotton in the rugs.

IMO, everything should be locked up. Separately. Ammo away from firearms etc. Times have changed, but in my family we are still living back when people had sense, due to education. To a point one has to protect the unexpected intruder, whatever, just saying....
Today is not like when I was a youngster.......Everything was out in the open then, guns on display without any worry.
There are about twice as many people on this Earth now as when I was born, therefore, a lot more bad people out there. Once again, just sayin'........

Gotta go to bed know, hiccuup..................

They won't hold moisture if it ain't there. My safes are climate controlled and have a hygrometer...Been storing some fine guns for years like that and never a probem.

I cut inventory to minimum and will sell few more. Empty space has been replaced by other valuables and important documents.

The few dings that I have inflicted on my stuff has been out in the field - I am as careful as I can be but somehow life always interferes with my best laid plans.
My in/ out safe handling is more controlled and I am more deliberate about my moves but eventually the math catches up with everyone. I just hope that when it happens, it will be minor and repairable.

Don't own safe queens :p

Rule round the house is I can have as many guns as I can get in my safe....I have 12 (I think) in an 6 or 8 gun safe.
Now I honestly don't care if they get nicks and dings. When I did I kept them all in gun socks while in the case.
My case is actually in it's own sperate little room, so I can have guns out of it as well, but I keep as many in there as I can cram.

What I used to do was use the jillions of "rod & reel" cloths I had collected, wrap them around the sticky-out bits and hold them on with wool sock that had lost a mate. Later, I just got the canned silicon spray and just applied that to the socks, and wrapped them directly.

Technique is pretty simple. Turn down the top of the sock about halfway. Wrap around the bit requiring the protection, then tuck the toe in. Roll down the top to secure it in place.

With you on that! Every gun in my safe has/will/does spend time in the holster or in the field, so dings, scratches and the like are expected.

That said, gun socks are nice to help reduce that, as well as the 70% full suggestion. I never have quite enough room for my pistols in my current setup and know some dings have resulted because of it. Socks on all of them would have easily prevented it.
