Howdy everyone. I was reading in another thread here and someone mentioned in car gun safes from center-of-mass.com. This looks like a great idea, but I was wondering how strong those cables are. Wouldn't it be a very simple matter for a bad guy to just clip the thing with a pair of wire or bolt cutters?

Thanks.

Yes it would. All you can hope is that the car-burglar won't have sharp snips with them at that moment. Like so many security devices...it's really better for keeping honest people honest and not stopping a determined, prepared thief.

That being said: It's still better than just tucking your pistol under the seat. Instead, I'd tuck the pistol inside the lockbox under the seat (without anyone observing me do that) and hope for the best.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I wrote the seller on the web, but he has not bothered to respond. That doesn't inspire much confidence in buying from him.

Here is my answer to that problem. It slides right under the seat in the back of my truck. The cable is not going to get cut with wire cutters and it will fit 2 guns and 4 mags.

Lock box for small gun

BTW: If you go to Office Max they carry a small box w/cable like the ones on center-of-mass.com that will fit a small size gun....and they're only $10 last time I checked.:)
