I'd like to use my vacuum food saver to seal guns for long term storage . with oxygen pack ,likely oil gun , and remove air and seal. What's wrong with that or do I have to pay $15 corr bags
It might work, but I'd recommend the combination of VCI bags and Breakfree Collector oil. You can get very nice bags from Polygunbag for 3 for $15, and they'll keep your guns rust free for years.
If you vacuum seal something you are begging outside air to find a way in. It will find a way in. If you just purge a bag with nitrogen you accomplish the same thing without the added risk of outside air intrusion.
