You're casted to be in the next summer blockbuster. You're on the way to the range, get sucked into some time/space vortex thingie and get zapped back in time to World War II. You are in China and are training and equipping a militia to defend against against the Japanese. Think of a cross between The Final Countdown, Stargate and Army of Darkness.

Because it's a movie, language barrier (just speak with a Chinese accent to the villagers, they'll understand you) isn't a problem. You aren't going to run out of ammo, so you don't have to be practical, so logistics go out the window.

So:
1. What long gun would you have? (this is your trademark movie poster gun that everyone is going to remember you for, like Scarface's M16/M203, Billy Zane's HK91/G3-SG1/whatever, Keanu Reeve's M16A1)
2. What sidearm would you have? (this is going to be on the video rental box and possibly the video game franchise box art you're going to Sabrina)
3. What knife will you carry? (you eventually get into a knife fight with the main bad guy after you toss aside your sidearm for a 'fair' fight)
4. Of course, about 2/3rds through the movie, you're going to be captured by the Japanese and bust your way out of detention. You obtain one 'period' weapon. Because it's a movie, you can pick German weapons as well (hey, it worked in Star Wars).

1. M16 Dissipator with M203 and ACOG, Singlepoint Sling, Surefire. Carbon fiber handguard.
2. Beretta 92G Elite II with carbon fiber grips.
3. Strider titanium/carbon fiber karambit
4. German flamethrower. Why not? It's hollywood.

OK, I'll play

1. SVT
2. P7M13
3. Ghurka Kukri
4. Sturmgewehr

OK, I'll admit that my choices were based in large part upon appearance, but this is a movie, right?

:D

Hmm.

1. HK G36
2. Walther P99 in 9mm, supressed, olive drab frame
3. Gonna have to go with a traditional KA-BAR
4. Browning BAR. Hey, they must have got at least one from an American soldier, right?

1. Match-tuned M14
2. 1911
3. The Gerber Sykes-Fairbairn variant: is it called the Mark II?
4. Hard to top a flamethrower; I was going to say 'me too,' but WAIT - a P-51 Mustang is a "period weapon" - I'd like one of those! As you said, it's Hollywood. :neener:

1. Street Sweeper (if unavailable a SPAS will reluctantly do) -- I picked a shotgun cuz I want to blow all the bad guys I shoot either through plate glass windows, or off tops of buildings.

2. H&K SOCOM MK23's (I will need a pair of these, and the slides will need to be stainless or nickel for the right dramatic effect.) Also, I will assume appropriate holsters will be provided so they can be carried absolutely concealed under my black spandex ninja suit until needed.

3. Cold Steel Arc-Angel Butterfly knives (again I will need a pair, as I am totally amphibious). Man I am gonna look cool when those things come swirling out from under my sleeves.

4. Artillery Luger, and lets add a drum mag to that, and while we're at it, why not full auto?

Ok...:scrutiny:

1. M16A1 w/ 24" bull-barrel, custom side-ish (think 45* to the left of carry handle) scope mount for those long shots.

2. 2 .45 1911's (ala Last Man Standing) w/ blindingly shiny chrome (think blinding like Gandalf the White in Two Towers), yet the enemy cant see it unless he is about to die.

3. 7" KABAR, w/ 2" of serations. Hey, it could come in handy. BUK's: SOG SealPup(?), Knife from Crocodile Dundee:rolleyes: :D.

4. And just to out do Happy Bob An Iowa Class Battleship. (mounted on tracks for land warfare...):D :D

Serious #4: Thompson Submachine gun. Instill fear in your enemies' hearts with the sound of .45 caliber lead. Carried in an uber-tactical violin case.:p

1) M-203. Plenty of .223 ammo and plenty of HE & WP.
2) 1911. It's period.
3) Modern Chinese knife (the one with 4 22 LR barrels)
4) Zero fighter plane (I strafe their airfield, wipe out a squadron on the ground and surrender to Chennault. The AVG slaps me on the back and makes me an honorary Tiger. Peanut & Madame Chiang pin medals on me & give me $ for my feat and I get photo-ops with Tex Hill other Tigers).

Hmmm...
1. Probably a heavily modified tactical 870 scattergun, a la Vang Comp.
2. SIG P226
3. Custom balisong with 5" step-ground blade, CF handle inserts.
4. Don't know as much about the older guns as I'd like, I'll go with the Thompson, a classic "good guy's gun."

:)

Hollywood right?

1. The Ogre is correct on this fine rifle.
2. Steyr GB, with a S9 for backup.
3. Samurai Jack’s blade, its magic.
4. M3

Plus I can disable anyone with a beautiful song and dance. Hollywood right.

1) Long-gun: M-16/203
2) hand-gun: 1911A1
3) knife: Ka-Bar
4) period weapon: Browning M-2HB, in fact four of them, along with 4 20mm cannons, mounted in my P-61 Black Widow night fighter

1. FN FNC and a tacked out Benelli M1 w/20 barrel
2. FN FNP-9
3. you guys need a knife to take the main bg's lt? A real action hero would go h2h. :D
4. some Chinese or Japanese sub used to sneak into the lion's den...of course we have the obligatory duel with another sub.

BAR (period)
1911
16 inch m 1905 Bayonet (would be cool against a samurai sword)

Mauser c-96 or PPsh (why not?)

Non-Period choices:

AK74SU w/underslung GL
Gratch/Bizon 9mm
Spetznatz shovel

(Hey, I was filming "Red Scorpion, Ressurection")

1. M1 Garand.
2. Glock 17.
3. Katana, constructed by Sonny Chiba.
4. Same as 3, recaptured and used in a final Battle Royale a la
The Hunted (1994 version starring Christopher Lambert).

OK I'll play. Since it's a movie I'll try for some distinctiveness while being somewhat useful.

1) AR-10B for the rifle. That green color and trigger-style charging handle sets that apart, IMO.
2) Two tone 1911, blue over nickel. Passe or not it does stand out on film
3) WWI trench knife. Ugly as sin and leaves a definite impression.
4) As long as we're picking up enemy weapons it just has to be the Nazi signature, the Schmeicher (sp?)

1. Colt M4 and an FN FAL

2. SIG P220ST

3. Samurai sword

4. Double Barrel Coach gun (this is how I make my escape and return to dispatch the bad guy)

In a movie sorta like Heat, Ronin, or Way of the Gun:rolleyes: :D

edited: after reading Original Post.

1. 20" 12-gage pump-action shotgun

2. Beretta 92FS (dual if I can swing it)

3. A spiked-polled tomahawk (if forced to use a knife, I'd go with a nice combat bowie or kukri)

4. Have to go with the German flamethrower

Lone_Gunman:

3. Cold Steel Arc-Angel Butterfly knives (again I will need a pair, as I am totally amphibious). Man I am gonna look cool when those things come swirling out from under my sleeves.

Totally amphibious? You're going to be fighting underwater? :D
