My father passed away a few months ago and in going through his stuff, we found his old collection.

I dont know much about the kinds of guns he collected but money is tight and as much as I'd like to keep some of these...we really need the money.

Problem is that none of us know anything about gun prices and I do not want to get stiffed.

Any help would be appreciated. The condition of all of these are excellent, virtually brand new.

1. Browning 22 Long Rifle Challenger III semi-automatic pistol

2. .22 Cal Hi-Standard Sentinal Revolver

3. 1914 Webley Revolver Mark I

4. Ruger Security Six .357 Mag revolver

5. Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum Revolver

6. Bauer Automatic .25 cal semi automatic pearl handled pistol

Thank you for your help

Your best bet is to check the auciton sites (Gun Broker, Auction Arms, Guns America) to check on prices.

Your descriptions are very generic. You don't mention if any of the original paperwork or boxes are present. These can add from $25-100 on the price.

What are the barrel lengths on the revolvers? Is the S&W a K frame, L Fame, or N Frame? What model S&W is it (19, 27,66, 586,686, etc.)? What do the sights look like on the S&W? How many shots does the S&W hold? Is the Mark I in 455?

Here are some very rough price ranges

1. 200-400
2. 100-300
3. 300-1000
4. 175-300
5. 300-3000
6. 175-350

Sorry to hear of your loss. I know you said you need the money but I would suggest you keep at least one of your father's guns because in the future when you realize you want to have something of his it will be too late.

lions' suggestion for looking in the "Blue Book of Gun Values" is a good one as well as looking on various Gun Auction Sites.

Good luck and again, sorry for your loss.

3. 1914 Webley Revolver Mark I
Keep this one...The Blue Book will give you an idea on average retail cost around the country. Internet auction sites, "walk-in" at local gun shows; you'll sell them....Good luck...:)

More info and pics would help. #2 and #6 are generally sub $200 handguns. I'd keep #2 just to have a momento of dad and as a fun to shoot inexpensive to feed shooter.

Some but very few Sentinel revolvers are worth more unless it's like one of the pink anodized frame versions or something.

We need a lot more info on #5, swing out the cylinder, look for a model number stamped on frame under where the barrel starts, something like 66-2 or 686 or 27, if the gun was made prior to 1957-58 it will not have a mdoel number though.

Sorry for your loss. Keep one of the .22s and one of the .357 revolvers for home defense or future concealed carry.

The others are accurate with the prices. Pics and condition help.
