Gun Vault Question

Hi all. I'm new, just bought a gun vault multi deluxe and have a question about mounting it. I plan to mount it to a closet floor which is just a laminate floor over the plywood subfloor. What would be the strongest type of fasteners I could use to hold it down with? It seems that if I just used the included screws someone could pry it up with no problems.

If you can access it from under the floor, some large bolts would be great. If not, some large lag screws would be great too.

optimally, I would opt for some sort of anchor (for lack of a better term) meaning. a couple options for this... easiest being mounting a steal plate either under or recessed into the floor... if under the floor,any prying will be pulling on the plate and not really allow much progress.. if it is recessed into the floor, they will actually be prying between the safe and the plate.. once again, not much progress to be made there...

This might be a little silly, but I have a thought. Try some mighty putty stuff on the bottom and see how it works. Its like 10 bucks at a store I think, and you could see how hard it would be for you to rip it out. Not sure how long that floor would hold though.
You could grab some dry wall mounts and get some seriously long screws to bolt it down with. I have a gunvault mini, if you bolt it down with the thickest thing you can find, and put self locking nuts on it, you could make it hold pretty decent.

Mounting a gun safe to the floor is difficult. I found the easiest way is to locate a stud in the wall behind the safe. Then drill a hole through the back of the safe from the inside near the top of the safe into the stud. Then just use a 1/4" or 5/16" lag bolt with a fender washer and screw the safe to the wall. You only need one lag bolt and it's probably stronger than mounting it to the floor and way easier.

Use 1/4 " toggle bolts, 6" long with fender washers.
I am assuming you can get through the sub-flooring...
Just as long as we are not talking cement...like a basement floor...
Problem is there will need to be ( 4 ) large 1/2 " size holes drilled in the floor. As long as you do not plan on removing it, it will be fine.

The safe can still be stolen, but it would require a crowbar.

laminate floors float -- screwing in place via the gunvault might be a bad idea.

lag bolt to wall stud. case will peel before lags give.

Agree that lag bolts into studs are the way to go.
