The dishonorable judge Weinstein is the one that presided over a couple of Brady lawsuits vs gun manufacturers and ruled that it was legal to violate the recently passed Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms law.

He holds gun makers liable for the actions of 3rd parties but when crooked cops help the mafia murder people and are convicted by a jury he lets them walk. Is that marxist idiot braindead? or is he on the mafia take too?

So if someone were to gun down bloomberg or schumer or klinton or mccarthy and hide out for 5 years they would get off free?

Unbelievable! 2 NYPD cops are convicted of 8 murders and they get to walk.

1. Read on.
2. Read again.

There is no statute of limitations on murder in the state of New York, but the men were prosecuted at the federal level because of the higher likelihood of a conviction for racketeering.

five-year statute of limitations mandates granting the defendants a judgment of acquittal on the key charge against them — racketeering conspiracy

Maybe they should have been charged with murder instead.

Sounds to be like the Fed investigators slipped, it took too long to get the evidence collected, or there wasn't enough to stick murder charges.

Why can they only be charged with one crime? If the statute is up why not just charge them with murder? Does racketeering and conspiracy somehow conflict with murder?

They weren't charged with murder. Murder is a state crime and is only a federal crime in certain instances. As the article stated, there was "a higher likelihood of conviction" for federal RICO than murder. IOW, the evidence was not very strong for murder, but it could be included as one of acts constituting a series of criminal acts to support RICO.

They can still be charged with murder in state court, but there may not be strong enough evidence to convict them.

I am sure that the Hororable Judge Weinstein is correct about the technicalities of the statute of limitations in this RICO prosecution. What makes me spitting mad it that the slimeball allowed the trial to go all the way to its conclusion and a jury verdict before throwing the case out.

Did the Honorable Judge have a last-moment epiphany about the statute of limitations or did he know all along that he was going to kill the case? Thanks for wasting taxpayer money, Judge Weinstein. :barf:

So if someone were to gun down bloomberg or schumer or klinton or mccarthy and hide out for 5 years they would get off free?

That would probably be considered a terrorist act with no time limitations.
Remember, politicians' lives are more important than ours.
