I drive a Dodge Grand Caravan, which I call my "soccer mom minivan."
However, I do have two unused rifle cases on the second back seat.

My "daily driver" is a '98 F-150 and to paraphrase a previous poster (italics are my addition)

i would drive a truck MORE if I could afford to fill it with gas...

as soon as i am able i WILL wind up trading the F-150 for a smaller more fuel efficient version, like say a ranger or the version badged as a mazda, (B2300??). have to say that so far the Ford/Mazda small trucks are the only ones making any real impression on me. Toyota's tacoma costs more and uses more gas, and many of the rest either seem to have gone the way of "let's doll em up and sell em to the yuppies" adn thus are more "an SUV with a cargo bed" than a PU, or they've priced them WAAYY the heck out of my price range.

what happened to the days when you could go into a dealer and say "ok i want one with these goodies (say cruise control, A/C, and power steering), a 5-speed manual, and nothing else, don't want fancy colors(ie "premium" colors), fancy stereo (but a decent one'd be nice), or other whiz bang doodads. just gimme a truck"??

Central Oregon is taking its toll on me... I'm now looking to buy a Tacoma and sell the Subaru, I vowed I would never ever drive a truck.

I used to drive a pickup...well actually I owned a pickup but my wife always drove it more because I have the longer commute.

It was a Dodge Dakota and the mileage sucked.

Just sold it recently because it was a third vehicle and we didn't drive it much - but I sure miss it when I need to haul something home.

I wish they'd make the El Camino again!

Mine's a GM coupe, but I traded in my (dearly beloved) Silverado Crew Cab to get it. Not by choice, mind you, and if I could have kept it I would.

SUV

After driving a PU as a "primary vehicle" (full time in the winter, mixed in with Harley and classic convert in the summer) for more than 6 years, I went to an SUV again last spring. Sometimes miss the PU, might go back next vehicle - or simply buy an older PU and fix it up as an heavy duty hauler.

Drive my F-150 to work and home daily but when were going somewhere as a family or I need to drive long distances for a business trip it's the wifes Honda Accord for the MPG's.

Chalk up another pickup truck driver. Current is a 1998 GMC K1500 8' X-cab running a 396CI Turbo-Diesel. Milage is better than most pickups for this level of power, but it still sucks, 16MPG average of mixed driving rarely more, rarely less. I like the truck, and it is a nessecity for my toys, but I hate putting fuel in it, nothing hurts like seeing $100 on the gas pump readout (38gallon tank). If I could get by with a car I would, but I cant.

My car is a tricked out 2004 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T with sport package, but that is only used for commuting and personal errands. My wife's vehicle is an Acura MDX SUV and that is the primary family vehicle that gets used to everything else. I am definitely NOT a truck person. I'm more of a sport sedan person. My next car will probably be a 3 Series BMW, an Infinity G35 or something along those lines.

My primary vehicle is a motorcycle, actually motorcycles. I have three street legal ones and I'm never in my van most of the year. It sits to the point I get worried about the gas going bad. It gets 15 mpg on the highway, a little more gas consumption than I like, but I use it this time of year, for hunting and fishing, and as a mini motorhome for camping trips.

My wife has a Toyota Echo, 40 MPG, as good as my GoldWing. I have a street legal dirt bike that gets 80 mpg, but cruises at 60 mph max. I, however, find myself on that thing a lot. It's a blast in the mud. better than any ATV, but you have to know how to ride it off road. :D

There is NOTHING redneck about my yard... the only thing with rust is the Jeep CJ-7, and NOTHING is on blocks, and they all run and get driven... (I even mow and plow snow UNDER all them!

I'm just as nuts about MoPars as I am about guns!

Hemicuda, no offence, its just what popped into my head when reading your post.

I'm just as nuts about MoPars as I am about guns!

If you have the space and can afford to, more power to you.
With that many by the time you have finished the basic maintenance on the last
one its time to start all over again. :)

Well, some people tell me it aint a real truck but this little 96 Ranger has been taking me there and back for 10 yrs now. With a bad back and steel ball hip joint, I have trouble getting in and out of the wife's Taurus and most other cars.:p

I commute 120 miles daily to work, so I drive a vw jetta diesel to work.

I own two full size 4X4 pick ups and drive them when I'm off work.

My "car" is a '99 F250 Super Duty w/ extended cab, 2wd, 7.3 turbo diesel w/ 6spd manual. Wife drives a 2005 VW Jetta turbo diesel. We take her car on dates, unless said date is to the home improvement store. My job has morphed into a home-officed, drive to the airport 3 - 4x month (95 miles), and my only real complaint is trying to park Truggly in the Atlanta airport lots. Unburdened, Truggly gets 'tween 17 and 19mpg, but I drive gingerly to get that.

Current stable of vehicles are:
2005 F150 Supercrew 4wd XLT
2000 Mustang GT with some performance mods
1989 Chevy Suburban Silverado 4wd lifted
1978 Chevy Scottsdale 4wd
1967 Ford F250 :D
