He might have to get a safe, as the kids could get it on the nightstand. Also, the fingerprint safes can supposedly not work if your fingerprint gets smudged, like if you are sweating because someone just broke in to your house. I've heard there is a type os safe known as "simplex" that is supposed to be good.
