Guns on Craigslist

I wouldn't buy or sell anything on Craigslist, too many scams, con artists, perverts, and outright thieves do business there. It feels like, "Buyer AND Seller Beware", on a face to face transaction, one party may show up with a gun (not to sell it), and relieve you of your money or property.

The point I'm trying to make is that craigslist focuses on people just in the area you live in, its all about doing things locally, there are plenty of places online to buy/sell/trade guns but 95% of the time you have to have it shipped which means paying S/H, transfer fees and such. If we had a website as widely used as craigslist that could focus buying/selling guns locally then it would make it much easier and the government would have less "control."

Or craigslist could just give in and let us use their site.

Craigslist is available nationawide, so federal law has to apply.
The only time federal law can really apply is if the gun crosses state borders, the only reason the feds have been able to regulate gun sales is due to an interstate commerce law (if im not mistaken). So as long as the party to party sale stays within the state then they can't regulate it. State laws are different though but with a little research and a couple extra clauses in the terms of use they could make it work IMO.

Craig's List policies are pretty clearly stated. If you don't like them, don't use them.

This thread spiraled off topic pretty quickly and is closed.
