Guns that came out in 1971

Can anyone tell me of some guns (or particular rounds) that debuted in 1971?

I know this is a random trivia thing, but someone out there might know...

Especially relevant for my purposes would be something from Ruger or Browning: but any manufacturer would be fine.

How about the Browning Model 10/71 .380?

The fine old Browning .380/FN 1910 was not importable under the point system of GCA '68 so they porked up the design with a longer barrel, longer thumbrest grips and magazine pinkie hook, and adjustable sights.

I saw pictures of one with regular grips, flush magazine, and the adjustable sights removed. I would have wanted SOME sights but it came out pretty well.


Oops, I noticed this was in the rifle section.
I can't think of a 1971 introduction of a rifle and no longer have the books that would show it.

This is in the rifle section because I spend most of my time here. ActuAly that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

The 44 auto looks way to expensive to buy (but awesome!), but it looks like the Browning might be somewhere in my range; assuming I can find one!

Well, don't know if this counts, but I have a Winchester NRA Centennial Model 94, made in 1971. It is inscribed 1871-1971. It commemorates 100 years of the NRA.

Do a search on Gunbroker for "NRA centennial", there are about a dozen listed. Both "rifle" and "musket" versions.

I think the Ruger #1 in 45-70 debuted in 1971. I remember my father had a Shooting Times article in which John Wooters tested handloads in that new chambering. Dad bought one of these shortly thereafter and still has it.
