Gunsamerica/Gunbroker etiquette?

GunsAmerica is risky because of the absence of a feedback system. So, to minimize risk I always buy from an established gun shop who advertises there and not some schmo with an FFL who operates out of his home. Also, I always buy NIB on GunsAmerica. Gunbroker however is different because it has a rating system.

2 thumbs up for gunbroker!

Good advice Cannonball. To be honest I though G-america had a feedback system. I think I've had such good experience buying on the internet that I didn't even think about it. I guess being naive is not the end of the world. I'll look a little closer next time for sure!

Thanks Everyone:rolleyes:

Gun dealers are busy right now, and as a result may be a little grumpy. Be patient. Being patient has gotten me plenty of good transactions that could have gone sour if I had not been. I won't do business without a feedback system, though. Use Gunbroker. I've had multiple good transactions there.

Oh come on aprayingbear, the seller quotes:

The bore is very good, with recent corrosion near the muzzle from storage

You sure it is the same rifle??:uhoh:

I sent the seller a question on the overall quality, lets see how he responds.

Rudeness

I've handled around 50 transactions on Gunborker and Auction Arms. All but two have gone very well with excellent two-way communication. I would not tolerate this kind of thing for a minute. This guy is a jerk. Please do us all a favor and publish his name so we can all avoid him!

I emailed about the "storage corrosion."

I emailed about the "storage corrosion." He assured me it was new storage rust and would clean up very easily. He said nothing about the extermal frosting and rust! I also asked for better photos and he said they were swamped with gun sales and assured me it was a great deal. Naively, I believed him. Wow I won't do that again.

It's easy to feel really stupid in the aftermath, you know the "things I should have done".

Once I have my check in hand I'll post a name.

Thanks Guys.

I've bought about a dozen firearms off gunbroker.com and every one of the transactions ended satisfactory. Now a couple of times I did ask questions and got back rude answers about like what you got.

A couple of the sellers I've bought guns from through Gunbroker and Auction arms have been slow responders to emails, but none of them lied about the condition of the guns I bought in any way. One actually said the gun "has light speckles" of rust on it, but it wasn't rust, it was some sort of polishing stuff, the gun was full of it, and when I took it off, the bluing was perfect, the gun hadn't ever been fired, as far as I could tell. Every gun I have bought from an auction has been a keeper.

Yeah

leave him a negative feed back. Sounds like he deserves it.

Make sure it says something like
"item was in considerably worse condition than stated"
