Yo out there!
Dunno if this is off topic but I just need to share a few things with you.
As recent as last week my husband was laid off from a job he has had for 23 years, cut, bye, bye, hope you are alright and yes, the health insurance will be kaput too! Now what to do. I am worried beyond belief. I am a jailer for the county and for now it seems as though I'll be there beyond the eight years we had planned for. So much for plans.
The upside, if there can be one, is that for several years my husband who is a master machinist has been turning out excellent gunsmithing to the locals. His specialty is the venerable 1911 but he also fixes or makes even more beautiful just about anything else.
We are north of Dallas in Collin County where he is the local armorer and the only real full service smith in the area including Dallas. You would not believe how many gunshops use his service and don't know it because they go through a second person. He does overnight sight cutting and can install breaks on ARs just as fast.
All I am asking is that you consider using him for your smithing needs. We are an older couple (57 and 60) who just wanted to live long enough to retire and he could play with his guns and machines ( he has industrial machines, lathes, mills in his shop) Now there is no option. We are literally up against the brick wall
:banghead:
Thanks.....Let us know if we can be of service.....
