Howdy:

I am looking for a gunsmith to polish a stainless S&W N frame revolver. I would prefer a 'smith local to DFW, but I am willing to send it off.

I tried to polish the bbl on my AMT Backup, but that did not turn out as I'd like. I know my limitations (time & patience-wise) and know I'll need to get someone else to do it.

I do not want the brushed or bead-blasted look. I want BBQ gun-level polish.

Thanks for any leads.

The Smith & Wesson Performance Center can do it, and so can any good gun refinishing service.

A good one is Ford's:

Simply tell them you want the mirror polish, and when it comes back, it'll look like a bright nickel job.

dfariswheel:

I checked out S&W & I think I will go with them. I can also get some trigger work don at the same time.

"...BBQ gun-level polish..." A what? BBQ's are painted Al.
Use jewller's rouge and a cloth wheel in a bench grinder.

Sunray:

"BBQ Gun" has a certain meaning that does not include aluminum or paint.

I very well may polish a weapon of mine with jeweler's rouge & a cloth wheel on my bench grinder. It won't be THIS weapon, THIS time, however.

Something like this what your are looking for? I LOVE polished stainless and everything radiused/melted instead of sharp corners. I am working on Ruger Redhawk .41mag. of my Fathers right now. It's gonna look sweet when it's done!

This is before the final polish, but you can see the radius around the frame where it used to be a coner. Trigger gaurd is also radiused.

This little sucker took a lot of time to make it look like this. It's qiute a conversation starter and I am very happy with the results.

That Colt is going to turn out well for you, I expect.

I don't have the skill/time at the moment to do it up right.
