I am shopping a new gunsmith vise, need feedback please! I have shopped the net, ( I.E. Midway, Pana-Vise etc.). Brownells Multi-Vise seems to be the one with the right features. Tilt, rotation etc. It only has two reviews, both negative, :cuss: I'd hate to throw away $300 on junk. Anyone have experience with this vise or any other recommendations? Thanks.

I have a big heavy-duty 10" bench vice for "squeeze'm till they squeel" stuff.
A Quick-Release Woodworkers vice for stock work.
A 4" Craftsman vice with smooth jaws for light duty parts fitting.
And a drill press table vice with V-block jaws for round or flat stock I can carry around where needed, or clamp in a bigger vice at odd angles.

Works for me.

I really can't see much use for those Multi-Vise type 365 degree contraptions unless you are an engraver or something.

There's a Chinese made copy of the Brownell's multi-vise you can try to see if you like it.
It's sold by Midway, and sometimes even cheaper on Ebay or on other net sellers.
The Brownell's original version is a very good vise.

One of the very best vises is the Wilton with the round channel slide.
They sell standard type vises, but the old style Wilton is as good as it gets for larger vises.
These aren't cheap, they're just the best in a standard type bench vise:

My vises ran from the 1 inch jaw Foster "Swivo-Ling", to various jeweler's vises, to a big Wilton.

i would also suggest looking though the vises at grizzly, enco, wholesale tool etc.
the 360° is good when you need it. the majority of my vise work is done on a 8" bench vise that i've made around 5 or 6 sets of jaws for.
