Got an old Mosin-Nagant (M91/30) that had a pretty badly flaking finish, so I stripped the old finish off and am going to apply an amber shellac coat.
After removing the old shellac coat, the wood has some pretty pronounced stains. Probably 50-year old oil, dirt, etc.
How do you remove these stains without harming the wood?
