H 414 powder for 308

I am trying to narrow my types of powder I keep on hand, I use H 414 in my 30-06 with great results. I'm going to work up some load for my .308 win. Has anyone tried this and what results did you get

It's on the slow end for .308 win. I works good for 165+gr bullets. It is much like the 4350s but where you will run out of room with the 4350s and will be compressed, the H414 will not.

Oh, and a mag primer is not a bad idea either. I'd used H414 in 7-08 with mixed results, I swaped to fed 215 with better results.

H414 is a well known .308 powder. Hodgdon shows a regular primer for H414 with all bullet weights. Magnum primers are not required. Magnum primers are about the powder and cold weather shooting.
Mind you, I use IMR4064 for both cartridges. Used H414 for something though. Have a part can. Might have been .243, .30-06 or .308.

While I use 4350 in the 30-06 and H414/W760 is very close to that but a ball powder, I feel it's just a little on the slow side for the .308. That doesn't mean it won't work for you. The best and easiest way to find out is to load up some rounds and see the results. Check the accuracy and velocity against your current .308 powder and then decide if the results with H414/W760 are acceptable.

I used H414 in a 308 Winchester quite a few years ago with 220 grain bullets and it worked pretty well.

I tried it a few months ago, since I've really liked it in .243. Accuracy was fine, but with a mid range load of 50gr and 168gr bullet the recoil was so heavy compared to the 4320, Varget and 8208 I've been using that I decided to save it for the .243.

You did not mention what rifle you are going to shoot this in. If it is an auto loader that powder will be way too slow for the action and could cause damage.

Sorry about the lack of info
The gun is a 700 Remington AAC-SD with a 20" barrel. I ha+ve been to the range once already with some good results. I'm going again Saturday. The'res one more load I want to try. Sunday or Monday I'll share my finding and my thoughts
