Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has a H and R and How do y'all like it. Do y'all have a an H and R in magnum calibers like .500 S & W?

Thanks

HR

I have a handi-rifle. I bought it with the .223 bull barrel, and it shoots ok. I just haven't really shot it that often. So I can't really remember how the groups. But I also have a 45-70 barrel, and that shoots great. It is my backup deer gun, or the one I let my dad use. It's right on at 100 yards and I have shot it at 160 yards and it quite good from there as well. I bought the muzzleloader barrel too, and that is another good shooter. The rifle sites that were on the barrel couldn't go low enough for the shots to hit the target, but after I put a scope on it it became another nice deer rifle.

I have a 45-70 that shoots better than I could have expected. I understand that you can purchase different barrels/calibers depending on the model you have.

I have one in .45-70. So far I've only been able to shoot it with the 300 grain Winchester factory loads that the shop had in stock, but with those it's minute of pie plate from field positions (mostly offhand). I can't wait to try it with a few different loads, preferably using cast bullets.

They are cool guns, but I think the 500 S&W's and even the .30-06 could be a little much recoil wise.
