H & D Folsom Arms Company

Greeting,

I recently received my factory letter from Colt. My 1878 Colt SXS was shipped to this company in February,1880. Does anyone know of sales records for H & D Folsom are available? The gun was ordered with some special attachment of which only 146 were made. I am interested in some sales information, if possible. The shotgun has 30" Damascus barrels, has all matching serial numbers and the barrels are bright and shiny(one gunmaker thinks it may never have been fired or has really been taken care of). There are no cracks in the stock and has a few handling marks. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have any info, thanks

H&D Folsom was a large wholesaler of fire arms from the late 1800s to the 1940s. As far as I know, there are no records of any of their business transactions. Even if there were records the most you find out is what long ago hardware store ordered it. Sorry about that. I know you wanted to find a "name" of who owned it, but some things are not to be, If Colt can't help you then you are up that well know creek with out a paddle. You own a fine peice of American firarms history, Good Luck
