It looks like a pimped-out version of Skunk's old SLB... :uhoh:

It has a heavy barrel with muzzle brake, Hensoldt scope, 10 round detacheable magazine and adjustable cheek rest.

So, uhm.. no one here is even remotely interested in this new HK??

[.. as the sound of crickets chirping wafts from the area where the audience is sitting..]

:uhoh: :uhoh:

Well it looks like they can atleast build bolt actions to be moderately ergonomic....

Unlike their tupperware tactical guns that are seemingly built for wookies or 3 fingered aliens like the ones who built the device in Total Recall that Arnold sticks his hand into inorder to regenerate the atmosphere of Mars.

HK has made two firearms that genuinely interest me, the HK P7 series and the HK53. The rest of it isn't worth the price of admission in my opinion. That comes after feeling outright burned on an HK USP that I bought based upon the legendary HK reputation and promptly sold within 2 years. Definitely a try before you buy situation for me as far as HK is concerned, as such most everything has been ruled out except for the P7 and the HK53.

Zero interest in a G36 after having played with one of those as well.

Yawn...

Browning's been building the BAR in .300 Win Mag for how long?

Even the U.S. Army's version of the .300 Win Mag BAR looks clean and efficient compared to that thing above.

H&K better not have bet the farm on that SLK-remake.:scrutiny:

I sure hope that is a small German in that picture, otherwise that rifle is freaking huge. .300 Winmag doesn't need to come in a gun the size of a .50.

i like the concept, but it is a little big. i like the BAR concept a lot more. more compact design. maybe they've made it big like that so they can make it in .338 lapua or something.

It looks interesting. I guess they had too many SLB's lying around and are trying to sell them to the tactical crowd. I wonder how accurate it is, were the SLB's meant for sub MOA?

I like it, I think it looks like a nice rig for certain long range varmint applications. I am, however, a big HK fan based on my sole HK rifle, a 630 which I dearly love.
But then you won't see me buying one either. I don't have near the money to drop on something like that when you can buy an X brand bolt gun and be just as well armed 90+% of the time.
Matt

Pretty cool, I would like it better with black furnature though.

I want to see accuracy figures on this gun.

I also really like that BAR posted, any more info on that gun? It's a pity the BARs don't take detachable mags.

How was the SLB Skunky? I was in the same prediciment as you (want an AR-15 but live in Occupied Terratory.)

I ended up with a Remington 7400 that I like fine, but isn't as accurate as I want. (sweet shooter though, the comp moderates recoil well and dosen't increase volume much.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that thing looks to be semi-automatic. That or it's one strange bolt... :scrutiny:

Anyway, I think a lot of the size has to do with the strange stock on it and the camera angle, even H&K isn't dumb enough to make a .300 Winchester Magnum 54" long.

The SLB was heavy. It was a good gun. I just wanted a reliable semi-auto rifle in CA, but I think the M1A was the best thing I had going even if it was cheep and cheesy feeling. :banghead:

That is one UGLY rifle.

That receiver looks like something dreamt up at Daisy, rather than HK.

Considering Browning has the BAR, what's the point? By using composites they made the same rifle.. with a receiver TWICE as large??

Color me confused.

And that little man is kind of creepy looking. :scrutiny:

He is creepy, but I'd rather see the man on the right's face, as the muzzle is pointed at him. I personally wouldn't be standing there, whether they say it's unloaded or not!

He reminds me of the Maytag repairman.

And that little man is kind of creepy looking.

Looks like he even brought his lunch along, including salt and pepper shakers. Could be a long day for him. :D

The HK Marketing strategy, Make a gun in a popular caliber, make it out of advanced materials (like a rubber O ring for a barrel bushing), Make it 3x as big as it needs to be, put it in a cool case, with cool accessories (like a plastic bristled bore brush) take a picture of a guy in a nomex suit next to it, charge 2x as much as it should sell for, and the world will beat a path to your door.

It seems to work.:barf:

I remember when a new member at our club brought his no SOCOM .45 with its whole carrying case and kit in to shoot at the range. I had never seen one before and it was so freakin huge it looked lika a crew served handgun, So I asked him if it shot .50 BMG, some of the other folks at my club bust out laughing, and he informed me that it shot .45 ACP just like my 1911, I was unimpressed, and when I got to fire it after letting him shoot my gold cup, I was even less impressed. Then somone told me how much it cost, and I was downright embarrassed for the guy.
