H&K: P7M8
My dealer has a used H&K P7M8 for sale at $850.00 out the door. This gun is as factory new with the box with all accessories. I was there when one of his customers bought it new a few months ago, he returned it recently because he couldn't get use to the squeeze cock. I have always admired and desired one of these pistols but never found the deal I wanted but this may be it. Since I am considering spending this amount would I be better of with an older model? I have read in the past about desirable "Date Codes" but don't have the knowledge of the true P7M8 collector.
Should I hold out and find an older model or are the new ones just as good or better?
Thank you
Col

Quality of manufacture it still there. Most people are looking at the date codes for a couple of things. How old is it and how much it could have been fired (wear on gas system) so for this the newer/shot less the better. Also people are looking for slightly older ones before HK started putting a warning on the side, like ruger. They are as good now as they ever were in my opinion.

Oh yeah, get it. I.M.C.O. it is the best handgun availible. If you don't like it, you will easily sell it.

Let me tell you, the cheapest M8 I've ever seen was $900. It looked new but wasn't. The cheapest PSP I've seen was $650. Didn't look new but wasn't beat up either. $850 for a NIB M8 is an awesome price. I'd buy it even if I didn't want it. Holding out for an older one will probably net you an older one at the same price. Which would you rather have?

sounds good

I got mine for 700.00 with 2 mags box and tools, But it has the grind mark and refinished plum colored slide. I'd say go for it. Have fun, it is a sweet shooting pistol.

Buck, with the grind mark that sounds like a imported former european police model. That was a normal price for the one with the heal mag release but the m8 has a us style mag release. The only reason I ask is becuase this is the first time I have heard of an former police one being imported with the american style mag release.

Buy it. That is a good price for a LNIB M8, with any date code. No problems with the newer ones except the warning, which does not effect operation at all, its just a cosmetic thing that some don't like. Thank the lawyers. I have an M8 (bought a few years ago for $800 LNIB) and a recent PSP import. No regrets.
