I've got an old M48 Topper by H&R that has a knack to not eject it's shells once you put them in it. It usually requires me dropping a pencil down the barrel to lightly tap the other end but it is annoying. It's clean and all that good stuff but just not all that smooth when it comes to ejecting shells. Any ideas?

If the shotgun is like most H&R's, the ejector "pin", button, whatever, sits right under the shell at the 6 o'clock position. Take some Gun Butter oil, give it a "drop", it has a long needle for getting it into the right spot. Work it 8 or 10 times without a shell, then try it with a loaded one, see if it helps any. More than likely, if older shotgun, it hasn't had any lube in quite a spell. Let us know how it goes.

Shoulda mentioned, only empty's get stuck in the chamber. But I have had one or two live shells fail to eject.
The cheap birdshot from walmart is horrible, im guessing from expanding cases.
This gun is becoming a pain in the butt to keep working but hey that's half the fun.
I'll be wire wrapping the front foregrip for support too, darn thing pops off when you shoot heavy shots out of it.
