I fell in love with an AR-15 and fell out of love with my Glock.

I shot about 600 rounds through the AR and it just felt wrong to go back to my AK. It was weird. It just didn't feel right.

Same thing with the Glock. I shot about 200 rounds through my 29-3 and 200 rounds through my Colt trooper.

Again I went back to the Glock and it felt like a wet noodle.

We'll have to see....

We've all had the same experience, somewhat like the excitement of holding a new girl in your twenties it wears off after 3 months, well been a long time for me can't remember for sure, girl not guns.;)

I dont see whats so wrong with how you feel. I have shot a buddys decked out ak..... It did nothing for me. And i owned a glock for about a week. There both good guns, dont get me wrong, but my AR in 223 and 6.8 are amazing and i absolutly love my eaa witness elite match. To each his own i guess, i just think your now headed in the right direction ;)

I don't see anything wrong with your discovery either. Give it a few more range outing though to be certain. AKs and Glocks don't feel "right" to me either, though I still have a ton of respect for both platforms. Their ergos just don't do it for me, unlike the AR platform or a S&W revolver. To each his own, enjoy!

I'm not really surprised, while the AK may be a great combat weapon, the AR is a better "range rifle" anyday. I hardly ever shoot my AK but I shoot my AR all the time. As far as the Glock is concerned I realize I'm probably in the minority but I've never had any interest in them whatsoever, just hate the Glock triggers. However, my model 29 with cast bullets and .44 special level loads is one of my favorite guns to take to the range.

No big deal. I get bored with guns too. Leave them alone for a while and then go back to them.

Guess I am weird I enjoy and respect what I am using on any given day. All weapons have their good things and bad.

If you are carrying an AK then you have an AK and treat it like one; accept it's good and bad points. Same with an AR if it is what you have you treat it like an AR.

There are times I only carry a .22 as a back up when hunting Piggies....I treat it like a .22 and not a .45 or 9mm....is it better or worse; better weight and more rounds carried...uhhhhh but it is a .22 and is all it can be.

I shot about 600 rounds through the AR and it just felt wrong to go back to my AK. It was weird. It just didn't feel right.

I do understand what you mean with the feel of something. On certain days I can feel more assured with rounds on target with a particular weapon....I just make myself work through it the whole time thinking why didn't I bring my ???? I hate Liver but have friends who really enjoy the stuff...Yuck!

Variety is the Spice of Life, I've heard it said.

I'm collecting guns faster than I have the time to get them all well broken in at the range. Being relatively new to guns (only a year) I already have 9 different firearms ranging in calibers from 22 to 357. Never thought of getting a Glock till I started researching 10mm. Seems to be a cult following out there likes the 10mm...so yeah, I'm getting excited at the thought of either a Colt Delta Elite, a Kimber Eclipse, or a Glock 20SFor 29SF.

My boy keeps begging me to take our AR15 back out to the range. While I was thrilled when I got this Del-Ton, my first Evil Black Gun, it was awesome at first, but I don't know, something about shooting handguns is where my interest seems to be focused for now...

So many guns, so little time.

I'm willing to bet if the OP goes back out to the range with just ONE gun, the one that did not feel right last time, there's a good chance of re-discovering the reason he got it in the first place.

Final thought - I'm ready to find a piece of land where I can shoot multiple targets at longer distances. I'm certain that would renew my interest in long guns.
