I was looking to upgrade the hammer and sear on my stock 1911
I check out the Wilson value sear and hammer anyone have any info how good the set-up is:I here also I may have to refit my thumb safety because of the new sear.
I was wondering if the new sear can be reshaped as far as the factory sear that I have now in the gun.Just a question of thought.

Check out what Cylinder & Slide has to offer in pre-fit hammer and sear sets. You won't be disappointed. I have 5 of them after several years of experimenting with Ed Brown, Wilson, the original Les Baer parts and several other combinations. I use the C&S "Tactical II" parts. I can get a trigger pull from 3# to 6# using stock sear springs with a bit of tweaking and full sear engagement.

If you go this route - DO NOT STONE ANYTHING in the trigger group you will only screw it up. Your thumb safety may require replacement, but it may not. Mine did not.

From what I have been able to determine, the Wilson Value parts are MIM. MIM is not the best candidate for modification since it may not be through hardened and reshaping may not last well. If you are going to spend money on a gun you may keep, do it right.
