I have trijicon HD night sights on my g19 ccw, but theyre getting dull, still usable though.

I have a g26 with the plastic factory sights I have to replace soon, too.
It's a backup for the g19.

I am considering buying a new set of sights, and placing the old sights on the g26.

I really want to try the XS big dots, and I think it's a great idea. However, I'm concerned about having two different sighting systems on my CCW pistols, and I'm not willing to spend 100$ on a set of sights to determine whether I like them.

Any advice regarding having two sighting systems on your ccw and comparing the two sights.

Is the BIG dot vs regular dot actually larger, or is the white outline just larger around the tritium?

Thanks in advance!

The XS Big Dot isn't big.

It's hemungus!!!

Fine for bad breath range visibility.
Terrible for target accuracy.

Get another set of Trijacon's, and send the first set back for vile replacement.

TruGlo TFX ....

I'm not a huge fan of fiber optic sights but the new TFX line from TruGlo really offers a lot.
It's like a mix of fiber optic and night sights, ;) .
The engineers & designers really did a detailed job on the TFXs.
They are safe to use with gun oils or cleaning products, they have coated inserts for added protection & they are steel not plastic.
Glockstore, www.glockstore.com has the new Glock TFXs but other gun models; M&P, Kimber, S-A, SIG Sauer, etc are out there. I've seen gun owners buy TFX sights for $100-149.00 avg.
I might get TFX sights put on my carry M&P Shield 9mm later this summer.

Thanks guys!

Gonna move my Trijicon sights to the 26, and purchase the Triji HD's for my 19.
Probably gonna end up buying my own sight pusher tool, because why the hell not, probably same cost as an "armorer" doing it.
I'll be contacting Trijicon about vial replacement soon. Do I need to send in the whole slide, or can I send in the sights once I've got them off? They've kind of had their asses handed to them with lots of one handed malf drills and hard use, are they registered to my serial # glock?

Their website says they replace the vials for a nominal fee after the 12 year warranty. What do they consider "nominal" on a pair of $180 sights anyway?

I don't know lately.

But it's for sure cheaper then buying another new set.

Gotta know?
Call them and ask them.

I have the XS Big Dots on one of my XDs .45's.
Do not like the different method of aiming them. In my opinion the narrow small vertical stripe of the rear sight is way too small anyway, even if I got used to the sight picture.

I have XS big dots on my Glock 19 and love them. They are VERY easy to acquire when needing a fast sight picture and do well when you're moving. Long range accuracy isn't the easiest and definitely requires some more work to become proficient, but I think having to work a bit more at long ramge is a reasonable trade off for how well they work at close and medium range.

Can't go wrong with a set of trijicons though. While I prefer big dots, the trijicons also work well.

FYI ....

TruGlo states the TFX sights have a 12 year warranty too.
Trijicon states the product warranty is 12 years. I think it may have been 15 years in the 1990s or 2000s but I guess that might of changed.
I've read & heard over the years that in general pistol night sights start to dim at 7/8 years then slowly wear out at 10/12/15.
I've owned a few duty-carry guns with Trijicon sights(green) that did great.
Id still try the TFX sights but the HD(orange-green) can do fine.
