I did see the thread below for handgun safes, but I'm not sure what size will do. I can say that my budget is quite small. So far, I have a locked box that I got at Walmart for $9 -- it holds my two compacts. Trouble is I have a S&W 686 4" and a full size Beretta 92FS. I can't fit all this in that box. What's more, I plan on buying more guns: Berettas, Glocks, and Ruger revolvers. It doesn't make sense to buy two or three of these small safes nor a monster size $1,000 dollar one. What can I do?

You might try what I did for my knife collection. I bought a rifle storage cabinet - most sporting stores have them (usually on sale). Not a "safe", but all plate steel with 2 locks with the special security (round) key & hinges designed right & able to be bolted to the wall/floor.

I stood the box upright, & using plywood, I made 5 shelves about 12"x24" each fitting inside the steel box - & I still had room at the bottom for storing bulky things.
