Nothing official, just my own personal observations based on the latest gun shows and local gun store conversations.

To all intents and purposes, the handgun supply to Maryland has dried up. Prices for whats left are crazy, with factory refurbished Glocks selling for more than new ones in other states.

The bullet casing law and the safety device requirements have done their job, we're screwed, other states take note.

I was at On Target today and their handgun cases was full except for their used handguns. Nothing that interested me though. The Pikesville show is next week. I need some ammo so maybe I'll check it out to see if I can pick up the elusive 657 in a 3" barrel

There is a bill before the Senate to repeal the integral handgun lock in Maryland right now. With the federal external lock law coming into play, the Md repeal bill might have a chance. This would open up a TON of new guns for us.

not holding my breath though.....

A fired case must be included with every new firearm sold in Maryland. The bullets are entered into a state database. IIRC, this is the attempt to create a ballistic fingerprint for new handguns in Maryland. I don't have chapter and verse in front of me.

The used market is quickly drying up, but the new market is still alive and well. It might not be what you want, but they are there on the shelves.

Maryland is weird

Any handgun (new or used) being sold in MD and manufactured after 1/1/02 must have the internal lock safety and a fired shell casing from the factory in order to be compliant.

Jane-get me off this crazy thing!

FWIW, I just saw a Glock ad in a handgun mag that shows a new internal trigger lock in the backstrap channel. Now we know why Glock left that part open ;) It looks similar to HK's system
