I've been looking at these nice, full stock Mannlicher 10/22s for a while now, so when I found a nice used one I jumped. It's a 1996 model so it has the old style mag release. It also came with a nice, usable, clear Simmons 22 scope. I gave away my first 10/22 to my son and missed it, so when the stars aligned, birthday and the find, I couldn't resist. So today will be filled with cake, candles, (lots of them), and .22s. A good day! :D

Never been a fan of the manlicher style stock on the 10/22, but I can appreciate it for its inherent history and beauty to some. It is a nice present to yourself. Congrats.

Very nice looking rifle! I also love the Mannlicher stocked 10/22s, and have been keeping an eye out for a deal on one. I think they look best with a straight tube scope like a Weaver 1-3x sitting nice and low. The stock I am particularly on the lookout for is the Talo basketweave one that has the regular sling stud in front.

i found the receipt for my first rifle purchase and it was in 1996 of an identical 10/22 RSI. the price brand new was $139.00.

I've all ways wanted a 10-22 with a mannlicher stock, in fact I bought a brand new one in 1970 with a standard stock (walnut) for $49.95 at a Gemco in Pomona, Ca. Still have that rifle and it still keeps shooting everything I feed it, but like I said I've allways wanted the one with the mannlicher stock.

I bought a Talo-inspired 10-22 Ruger with a conventionally checkered (as opposed to "basket weaved"), Mannlicher walnut stock a couple of months ago. It is all s/s and I recently installed a Williams aperture sight on it. I do prefer the original style magazine release on 10-22s like the one the op now has.
I've been too busy to get to the range yet but hope to do so in the very near future. I've always liked full-length stocks on some rifles in an aesthetic sense.

@ usp9

I truly understand and 'get' the love of the Mannlicher stock.

I bought one of those in stainless with a laminate stock from a fellow retired LEO = and its AMAZINGLY accurate and I get complements whenever its out at the range or field.

Enjoy - I am sure you now know pride of ownership !!.
