While perusing the latest inventory at one of the local gunstores I came across a very nice-looking Ruber 10/22. It has a very nice Mannlicher stock, beautiful wood and seemingly little used. The stock goes virtually all the way to the end of the barrel. It looked like a factory stock rather than an add-on. And all they wanted was $175.

Does anyone know if any 10/22's came from the factory like this or this this an after-purchase midification?

I don't NEED another 10/22, but it is a nice-looking rifle.

Thanks.

Ruger has produced several versions of its full-length stock. The one I have is a stainless furniture, Walnut stock with a rubber recoil pad and cut checkering. WalMart marketed a laminated version and there are smooth examples out there as well. If you like it, buy it. That sounds like a good price.

Frosty, it's a factory gun.

Ruger calls them their "International" series, and does the Mannlicher stock for not only the 10/22, but also the #1, and Model 77 rifles. Here's a 10/22 International, straight from their website:

If you like it, buy it. $175 isn't a bad price. Regular 10/22s run $160-$190 around here. The International is supposed to be more expensive.

I'm starting to really like Mannlicher stocked rifles.

Frosty, I have looked at the "International" versions of the No. 1 and the 77 on and off over the years and as you'd expect they are subject to more accuracy variables than the short-forearm models. Presumably the same is true with the 10/22, at least to some degree (shorter range, likely to matter less?).

I like the looks, however.

i found mine

i have wanted one of thse for several years. i really like the stock and it does not have the goofy barrel band that the regular carbines have. finally found a lightly used SS one for $250, couldy not pass it up. now i need to find a vector folding ak and i will have everything i need (lol)
i hope no-one minds me adding to these older posts. i try to use the search before i make a new post, i have found that there is "nothing new under the sun" and usually my question has already been asked a dozen times.

I got one made in '66, so they're stock. FWIW, I was going to have one ordered, before I traded for this one, and it was going to cost about $250. If I were looking, I'd pick it up

I've got the laminated stock. Kind of has a greenish tint to it though. I bought my 10/22 from a close out a K-mart for $120.00 but it had a plastic stock that was butt ugly. I got this stock free from a guy on a Ruger 10/22 forum a few years back.
