Good info, Maddock. Thanks. I didn't know he died in Leige, Belgium. Leige was one of Hitler's objectives during the Battle of the Bulge (on his way to Antwerp). He wanted to split the Allies in two and also to open a sea port. Maybe it was the memory of JMB having died there that gave the Allies the extra will to resist!
I would raise a toast in celebration, but J.M. wouldn't approve.
