Lookey here what I got in the mail today!

f7786d5e.jpg

It is a living inheritance from my dad :) fresh out of the box from Dillon. I paid $38 for the repair/refurbish and $23 to ship it back to my house. Much of the parts are brand new and the press and the dies are cleaned up. One little nit-picky thing was that they didn't do that great of a job cleaning up the dies as there was still quite a bit of surface rust and some caked up residue inside the dies, but considering the shape everything was in (they had been stored in a trailer with 2 busted windows in a very windy and dusty area for 15 years or so) and the price I paid to get it back I am not too worried about it.

Definitely a step up from my Lee turret press :D Now to figure out how to set up and use the thing!

I was going to just mount it there on the dinner table but I wasn't receiving any good vibrations from the wife on that idea :D

:uhoh::confused::scrutiny: What dillon???¿¿

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES

Oops, pic didn't show up at first. Sooper deal!

Is that the original paint on the press or did they re-paint it?

@ Chrisgo Casefeed is being cleaned up by yours truly. I probably should have sent it in with the other stuff, but I had a not so close of a friend taking it from here to Scottsdale with his wife in their Prius. They had to leave earlier that I had thought and I was already worried about taking up too much space :(

@Otto At first glance I thought they had sent me a new press! But, no it just cleaned up well. The blue paint is as bright as ever and it is original since there was still some abrasion from the washers and the mounting bolts.

@Dan Yessir, I plan on taking full advantage of my Thanksgiving week off (I am a 7th grade math teacher :D ) and as you suggested, getting to work.

@NYC71 When did you send your Dillon press in? I have heard that they used to not charge anything for repairs or shipping but had to recoup some of their costs and changed their policy a bit. I didn't hear it straight from Dillon so I really dunno. All I can say is that I was happy to pay less than $60 bucks to get so much.

Now off to youtube to learn how to use the thing.

Wow, that's a heck of an inheritance.

And a living inheritance at that!
That means you didn't lose your father.

Sounds like you need to take him out for beer.
Please cherish while you have him.

Very nice!

I had to save up and buy my Dillon, but I think I would have been happy to have had a relative leave me something useful...especially if they were still around to help me learn how to use it.

Thanks DMAZUR. I put this post up out of excitement and even gratitude for the press that I got from my dad :) I'm glad that you were able to share in my excitement =)

@ Hondo actually, I was planning on making him some beer. I homebrew as well and I have been turning him on to beer instead of wine. I dont make that yellow fizzy junk that Bud Miller or Coors make tho ;)

mwsenoj, I sent it earlier this year. I don't know why they didn't charge me. I called them twice to find out how much I own because the machine was missing a few items. I was told CS was going to contact me for before the send it back. Then one day I had my press waiting at my front door.

He deserves something Imperial for that sort of haul. IPA or Stout!
A man who knows what he is talking about! I have had more success with stouts. It is a real pain to mess with a ton of hops :(

Maybe you shouldn't put it at her place

Haha I think you nailed it ;)

Nice! Does your name mean it? Are you really from/at NYC? If so it must have cost a pretty penny to ship.

Oh, and a brewmaster too!

Sounds like someone I'd like to befriend! :D

(my favorites are the German Pilsners - with a special eye to Hacker-Pschorr's Mai bock)

I thought he was talking about the cover on the new 'Holiday' edition of the Blue Press.
