The handgun case is similar to the long gun case I posted about earlier in construction, with a thick but not brittle shell and locking holes bolstered with a piece of metal on the lid corners.

A thick carry handle sits in the middle and a pressure release valve sits underneath. There are four closing snaps, one on each end and one on either side of the carry handle. This makes for a solid lock up.

The case came with four layers of foam, one fits in the lid and the bottom and two are pluck-foam inserts. You can use them two ways; as a dedicated case you can pluck the foam to match the outline of the gun(s) you have or you can stack them by putting two guns in, foam, two guns, foam, two guns and close.

I did just that with two 7.5” Rugers

Then two other full sized guns:

A 10” MK IV and a K-frame:

And then I closed it up.

Everything fit well, so I swapped a few guns out of the case and went to the range. I purposely set the case upright in the rear seat of the Ford to see if there was any slippage. All stayed put, none moved.

Like the rifle case I reviewed earlier I haven’t gone on a trip with this case, but I have no doubt it’ll take four guns on a plane ride without worrying about them getting damaged.

Stay safe.

Price?

Where do you get the discount coupons?

These would be soooo much better if the snap latches themselves locked.

The coupons are in just about every gun or outdoor magazine and often in Sunday papers, there’s a 20 percent-off one almost every week. I got this case when it was listed at $45.00.

This is the extra large Apache case, black is $60.00, the green is currently $63.00. Both prices are before any sale or discounts are applied.

Stay safe.

Sams has the same cases in black. Usually 29. But sometime 19. They have one for long guns with wheels for 49 around Christmas. I bought a few last year.

Always get the free item coupons from HF. My kids love those terrible flashlights they give you. I buy a lot of consumables at HF. Plus I keep a grinder, Sawzall etc for loaners.

I have the smallest case that they sell of the type shown here. I bought it as a storage container for a small depth finder head.it does seal up water tight, or at least well enough for the empty case to float in a bucket for an hour before I checked on it. I don’t like foam for long term storage as it can hold moisture, but for a to/from case I can’t knock these cases at all.

As for getting the coupon, just do a google search for harbor freight coupon and it will give you a link right to the digital coupons available on their website. Sometimes you can even stack coupons, but not always.

That's the one from Sam's for 19 around Thanksgiving/ Christmas. I have a green one from HF with a D300 in it. They are the same best I can tell.

And the obligatory 10mm goodness that goes with it.

I got a 20% coupon in the mail today from HF. So check your boxes.
