Especially......new or used 44 Magnums of any make have gotten rare and ridiculously expensive. Even the foreign made out of production single actions.

Are you sure? Even Sportsmans has Model 29's, 69's, Anacondas, Super Blackhawks, Super Redhawks, and more all in stock. Even when I go to the store, I see 29's, 69's and Anacondas in the display cases at the expected prices. The prices are around $1000 for most with the Colt at $1499. While some people think the current prices on Rugers is unjustified because they were traditionally lower-priced, none of these prices are ridiculously expensive, and importantly, there is widespread availability of new 44 Magnums.

I gave up a decade or so ago after I found most of what I had on my want to have list.
K Frames and L Frames Smiths. A couple of must haves in my book that I sourced years ago. 19 and 66 no locks. Early Dash.
They were in the $500 dollar range at the time.
