Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do on a gun

If the hammer springs are too heavy, you can file the sides down a little. A little can make a lot of difference. Be real sure to polish off any and all file marks to prevent stress risers.

buy uberti colts. you can take them apart and put them back together in your sleep. if you ding a screw slot. just clean it out and restore it with 22 grit emery paper. polish the head i and 220 grit paper on a 3/8th drill motor and reblue ith cold blue. their you go, keep them looking good. i always replace the bottom flat spring with a wire spring. lasts a lot longer. if you get a modern one with the new type hammer and trigger. just get the old type hammer and trigger and repace it. you would be much happier.

The wire bolt/trigger springs are nice. I need to buy a few. When deburring a new gun I remove the burr on the front of the spring shelf it helps the stock spring set flater and I back off the bolt spring screw 1/4 turn.
