I started a thread in shotguns asking about refinishing my pardner shotgun and got to looking around H&Rs site, nice

I've been perusing around, researching what sort of varmint type rifle I might buy someday and I like what I see in H&Rs selection. However, I'm somewhat torn between the .22 hornet and the .204 ruger as my caliber of choice. I've shot the .22 hornet before, and am quite taken by it, but I have not shot the .204; I hear good things about it though. They only offer the .22 hornet in a synthetic stock :( The .204 comes in a pretty wood stock :)

I voted for you to go for the .204 w/wood. I did this because, the Hornet is such a sweetheart of a caliber, it deserves to be in a nice, deep blued action, with a medium contour barrel, and fine oak or laminate stock. Something you will enjoy as much as you possibly could......until you hand it down to your son.
