I hope to get to the Mid-Atlantic Colllectors show (the Harrisburg Gun Show) tomorrow morning, but I'll be a slender time budget if I get there at all.

For anyone who was there today or otherwise has reason to know, I have a few questions:

1) Anything of special interest that *you* would recommend taking a look at? I'm not much into black powder, and I realize everyone has different tastes, but I'm looking for highlights if there are any.

2) Any good deals you've spotted on ammo?

3) Is parking still $5? $5 isn't the end of the world, but I know sometimes it makes me long for a folding bike kept in the car at all times, so I could park 15 minutes' *walk* away, but be there (by bike) in the same time it would take me to walk from the end of the parking row.

4) Any great deals that you've seen on ARs? Any lowers at decent prices?

5) How's the jerky this year? ;)

first time i missed the show

I dint get to the show this sprng,
I dont know if york still has a gun show anymore,
I hate that 5 buck for parking,I have a handicap parking permit,so i get to the door,I bought a new Tikka down at Trops friday,I traded in my 44 mag,and money< i should not sold the 44,oh well Its not the first time i sold a gun that i shoud have held on to,I know i got the short end for sure,But thats the last one, last time,

I know it's over now, but I just ran across this thread. I went yesterday (Saturday)... still quite a line to get in an hour after the doors opened - a big crowd. Parking still $5, Admission $8... comes with the territory.

Lots of ammo for sale - at "normal for today" prices. I saw a lot of black rifles, plenty of Mosins and Yugo SKS's (by the crateload). Nothing really floated my boat, but I've bought a couple of guns in the past month, so it would have taken something really special to pry my wallet open.

Came home with nothing more than an additional mag for my recently acquired Police trade-in H&K P7 PSP.

Still had a good time, though. The cash went back in the safe where it will be ready for the next show.

York most definitely still has shows... no fee to park here! Just last month I picked up a lovely late-1918 Eddystone M1917 in York... that one's been on my list for a long time. The May show in York (3rd & 4th?) should be special... it's a combined Appalachian Promotions and Small Arms Review event. Looking forward to that one.

Anyone else have feedback from this weekend's show in Harrisburg?

Bought a few spare mags. That was it. Prices were high as expected. I hear there is one in Reading in May.

$21 if I take the wife!! At our show in Sault Ste Marie, MI adm is 4 or 5 and park anywhere you want to for zip. I do have to drive 140 mi each way.

I accessorized, and am happy with the time investment. Parking and admission covered by first deal- 10 boxes of Federal AE 55gr .223 for $6/box:) Good stuff generally.

I found a screaming deal on a very early Springfield M1A, with all USGI parts -$1299. It was on consignment and I can get it for $1200:D if it survived the show. The dealer marked it up to $1499 after i told him what he had.

I pissed off another garbage mag dealer who was foisting a NDF glock mag on a new Glock owner for $25. Made a friend in the process.

I'm in Las Vegas (family vacation- Vegas, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Bryce, Zion, etc) and attended the Crossroads of the West Gunshow here today. My wife "can't believe" that I went to a gun show today:neener:. I'm gonna post a comparison thread later. In brief- I think we have it better in Pennsyltucky than the folks in Nevada.

PAshooter: Good info! I may be able to get to the one in York.

I ended up passing on the Hburg show today; if the lines were that long, I'm very glad I did, since I had a tight schedule. (Seeing niece beats gun show, hands down.)

With the money I didn't spend at that show, I might buy a nice rifle case I found at a surplus store today (Ollies -- the same place I found the book on cartridge conversions), the better with which to transport my few longguns westward.
