Four thoughts:

(0) What, no infection from the cloth of your pants being embedded in the wound? Were you wearing shorts?

(1) I wonder if it would set off the magnetic detectors at the airport. Bit of 'splainin' to do, eh?

(2) Good thing they weren't using depleted uranium for the bullet cores.

(3) I'd get that puppy removed at the earliest financially possible moment. Usually, even steel-cored bullets have a lead liner between the core and the jacket so the jacket can "take" the rifling.

Shorts were worn. Don't fly. no depleted Uranium's a plus.

I'm thinking about doing the removal myself, lol. Or have my Aunt do it, as she's a RN, so. I'm definately keeping that sucker, lol.

M4 Carbine

Well.... we were at a outdoor range using an M4 and MP5.....Everyone had eye protection except me. One of my guys was shooting full auto with the M4. I thought I was far enough back... I turned after the 1st burst to watch as the 2nd burst happened something hit me right above my EYE! It made a nice slice right in my eyebrow.

There was a baby squirrel that one of the cats had been batting around, poor thing was in bad shape and (even if I knew where it was) I knew the momma squirrel wouldn't take it back. So I decided the right thing to do would be put it out of it's misery. Now, being in the city limits I knew I couldn't use a regular 22, so I went for a Super Colbri. Damn thing bounced off the skull of the squirrel and hit my forehead:cuss:. Second shot, didn't do the trick. Finally had to use a 22 short, run hide in the house for about 20 minutes and then back outside to bury the little guy.

Yes, was test shooting a 38 at polycarbonate (bulletproof glass) 1/2" thick.
about 15 yds, bounced back hit me right in the groin and made a terrible bruise. At least it din't hit you know where

Yes, I have been hit by a bullet ricochets many times. But only when shooting pistols at steel plates at close range, like 7 and 15 yards.

I've been hit by splatter and full sized bullets. I used to shoot informal IDPA at an indoor range. We sealed it off and went beyond the stalls to set up the stage. Got hit with splatter every other competition. Took a .45ACP ricochet to the foot once. Another of the same caliber hit my brother in the stomach and whacked me in the arms. The former hit was a definite "ouch," though not bad. The latter was a light thump, like a playful punch.

yes from both jacketed and cast slugs off a sheet steel silouhette target fastened to a framework. one was at about 30 yards jacketed slug jacket hit me at the knee level of trousers the cast flattened out and hit me in the elbow which I pulled it off of. the cast slugs at about 50'.
sheet steel many times led to richochets with several handgun rounds includeing .357 mag.

I was at an indoor range in OKC about a month ago. I finished my string, pulled the mag and as I was setting the gun down something smacked me hard on the upper left side of my chest:uhoh:! I looked down to see a spent round fall to the floor in the next lane. I asked the fellow next to me if I could reach down an pick it up. It looked to be a lead round, probably .38. Left a red area for awhile. Really quite surprising. I still have the bullet.

6.8 SPC 110 Sierra Pro Hunter 2600 FPS it hit steel at close range and came back on me,

Thanks,Keith

Yes, while standing in the pits waiting to pull down targets during a rapid-fire string, Gomer tried to put one more shot in his target, hit butts just below the target, shed the jacket and AP core bounced off something, struck my steel pot and penetrated the pot and liner, skated across my skull above my right eye at the scalp line. Knocked me out cold, pit officer thought I was dead. Helmet knocked off with hole in it, blood all over the place, hit my chin on the concrete, took 6 stitches in my chin and 16 on my head. Now that I'm 60 years old the scar doesn't look so bad, looks like any other sailor who had liberty in Subic and had to fight off drunken swabbies to get back to his ship without a tattoo. So stay well under the parapet children!

Never been hit by anything more than a BB ricochet (thank God) but have had somebody else's .223 come sailing by too close for comfort...steel targets are great fun, just take care with them, people!

Got hit in the chin at Knob Creek by a 7.62 AP bullet. It put a hole through my lip that you could run a pencil through and bled like hell. When it hit the jawbone right below my lower teeth I thought someone had punched me. Saw stars and everything. It took me a minute to figure out what had happened. Not a pleasant experience.

Still have that bullet somewhere.

Yup, and all from shooting steel poppers. Lead splash, jacket fragments and exactly one complete bullet. Sucker bounced right back and nailed me in the forehead. Felt like somebody poked their finger hard into my head. I was wearing eye protection then, and have gone from "usually" to downright fanatical about it.

No, I haven't but my wife did.

I was shooting 124 grain hardball ammo from a 9mm Browning HP against a hill. Apparently the bullet struck a rock imbedded in the ground, bounced back and hit my wife, who was standing behind me, right on the shin. It didn't penetrate or do any major damage but it left a painful bruise.

Scared me to death and swore me off 9mm for several years!

I came really close to catching a .45 ACP ricochet in the leg one day.

My friend and I were shooting old oranges and other fruit in the back yard one day using a tree stump as a backstop and when we went to pick up the brass I found a .45 slug right next to where we were standing. Now I stick to .22s in the backyard.

My inlaws bought a house and the previous owner had a nice homemade set of big spinner targets. They gave them to me and I get splattered with a jacket any time I shot them within 15yds or so. I caught one jacket in the forearm and had to dig it out with some tweasers. I now only use them to shoot longer range.:banghead:

I have been hit many times by big splatter while cowboy shooting. Some clubs put the targets too close. I use cap & ball pistols mostly and they don't shatter on the target, they go splat and just flatten, even full snot compressed black powder. A couple of those have come back at me, but never any damage thank G-d.

Set a quarter dollar coin as a target in a niche of a tree stump and shot at it with a .45ACP pistol at around 21 feet, when I finally hit it, I saw what I thought was the quarter spinning end over end, flying back toward me and proceded to catch it in my left hand, it smacked home in the palm hard enough for me to let out the chingow! After the initial shock I opened my hand to see a slightly deformed FMJ .45 ACP bullet, it didn't break the skin but it left a nice bruise !

Yes - in the chest at -

GUN CITY USA IN NASHVILLE.

THE PLACE REMINDS ME OF A SCENE OUT OF PULP FICTION. HAVE NOT BEEN BACK TO THEIR RANGE SINCE. I DID STOP BY THERE FOR A BOX OF .380 IN A PINCH LAST MONTH. THEY HAD ABOUT 50 GUNS AND HARDLY ANY AMMO. I SAID WHERE IS THE GUNS AND THEY SAID "CAN'T GET ANYTHING SINCE THE ELECTION. I SAID THE GUY DOWN IN FRANKLIN HAS 4000 GUNS AND A MILLION ROUNDS. THEY SAID FOR ME TO GO THERE THEN...
