I see 8# kegs of 50BMG pull-down powder is for sale cheap.
My question is has anyone made wc-860 or H870 cycle a Garand or a MAS49/56? Even with compressed loads/magnum primers?
I checked ammoguide.com and no loads are listed for H870 for the 30-06.... the resident expert on ezboard.com reports very low velocities when trying the powder and tons of residue, which would rule out it's use.... but then I see a load in the Lee 2nd edition at 64 grains compressed with a 200gr bullet at 2400 fps 49kpsi which is much more than enough to cycle a Garand. Does anyone here have first-hand knowledge of H870 working in 30 caliber semiautos?
