I got a few boxes of this recently and just shot it for the first time. I tried it in my 1851 .44 “navy” with Taylor’s cartridge conversion cylinder and the recoil was significantly lighter than my 250 grain MBC handloads at about 800-850 FPS. I also had issues in that gun because either the COAL was too long or the bullets were pulling a bit from recoil and growing too long. I tried them in my Remington today and the first shot I was like, wow! That didn’t feel much lighter than my loads. The next felt almost like a squib the recoil was so low. The next was moderate, then another with strong recoil, then another really light one. Luckily I was hitting all the plates so I could hear whether the bullets exited.
I’m going to pull 10 and weigh the charges but was just curious if anyone had had issues lately. They seem to have a pretty good reputation from what I could find.
