Has anyone here got a Bright Chrome or Nickel finish from Fords Custom Gun Refinishes? If so how did it look/ hold up?

The reason I ask is I am told that High Polish (bright) chrome is not good:

"It can remove detail and the original lines in the gun"

"Brushed is as shiny as chrome will get unless you get cheap bumper chrome. The hardness and durability of bumper chrome sucks."

If this person is offering bright finishes, with warranty. They cant be as "bad" as people say... I would think...

Any extra information or input would be great

Had Ford's do a P7 two yrs. ago. Was to be all matte, but came back with slide flats brushed. Actually were mirror polished. May have been from the ultra hard steel of the H&K? Returned to have it done as ordered, all small roll-marks are entirely legible and sharp.

Has held up well but still needs to be kept oiled or sealed. This particular gun had mild rust in area of lanyard recess. Probably was not prepped as best should have been as can see very slight bleed thru now. Not bad and no flaking, et. but still "stained".

Ford's is reputable but Virgil Tripp is the "Big Dog" when it comes to HC and guns. He has the ability to do top-end 'Smithing if required and will advise before plating if something is noticed.
Plus he WILL ans. your Emails!

Yea, I emailed fords last week with no response. Oh Well.

Originally I wanted to go to tripp, however I was informed they do not do a Bright/Reflective Chrome. (Since It can remove detail and original lines of the gun)

However I have wanted a Full Bright Chrome 1911, with Pearl Grips. (Since I got a colt, with colt medallions on the grip) :what:

Fords was the only place I could find that would do the bright chrome.

I found this pictures from their site
