Has anyone in the US bought a Gun from private party in Canada?

Please chime in if you have ever bought a gun from someone in Canada and had it shipped into the US (legally).

I always have been told that one needs special import/export licenses to import guns and that doing that for a single gun was cost prohibitive. So I always steered away from selling or buying even gun parts acorss the boarder.

If you have done it, please tell me a little about the process, costs involved, time frames, etc. Can any FFL on the US end do it?

Sometimes you find a deal too good to be true and it usually is. I suspect this is one of those cases where it is just not worth the effort.

This will help you start checking the required processes and fees. It is mainly focused on export to Canada but they can advise you about import, and many of the links to regulatory agencies on both sides are the same.
