The recent post "shooting down" movie "Lord of War" made me remove it from my Netflix Queue.

Has anyone seen American Soldiers, the movie? Does it fairly treat our men in arms?
Here is the review:

Set during the Iraq war in 2004, this fast-paced action-adventure follows a troop of United States soldiers as they set off on a routine sortie in Baghdad. When they're ambushed by a group of Fedayeen insurgents, their normal day suddenly turns deadly -- and the soldiers must draw on all their skills and inner resources in order to survive. Curtis Morgan, Zan Calabretta and Jordan Brown co-star in this stunning dramatic portrayal of a brutal war.

What about "Over There"

i have not seen American Soldiers. haven't even heard of it. i have the first season of "over there" on dvd and i have to tell you it's pretty much my all time favorite television series. having been "over there" albeit afghanistan and not iraq, i can tell you the series is very realistic as television goes. the acting is good, the technical aspects are accurate and they make every effort not to politicize things or paint soldiers in a bad light. they do seem to be the unluckiest squad in iraq but the show wouldn't be very interesting if it showed the stuff that really takes up most of our time "over there." oh, boy! this episode just like the fourteen before it show how we wake up, work out, shower, eat, poop, perform PMCS, play xbox, eat, nap, read a book, eat, sleep. wasn't that exciting?

I saw it at the video store today. It had the name and number of the local Army recruiting sergeant on it.
