Has anyone used Rem. 9 mm UMC 115 gr. JHP

Has anyone use the Remington 9 mm 115 gr. JHP UMC ammo.It has good balistics.Velocity 1155 ENERGY 341 and costs much less than most self defence ammo.
I can get 100 rounds at walmart for 23.42 thats 5.86 for 25 rounds much less than the 14.00-20.00 for 25 rounds that most self defence ammo goes for.
Has anyone tested it in wet phone books or recovered one after shooting and compared it to self defence rounds as far as penitration and expansion???

IIRC those bullets work pretty well in jello.the powder is a little dirty an has more flash than most 124+p.but its very accurate.the nice thing is on a budget you can shoot enough of it to assure reliability and know you can put them where you need to and like real estate SD is all about location.

All of it I've shot was reliable, feeding, firing and ejecting as it was supposed to. I like it as a less expensive alternative to testing a gun's reliability with JHP, having once had a gun that was reliable with FMJ but not JHP. It does have a little brighter muzzle flash than premium ammo, which has specially blended, flash-retardant powder. I never shot anything but paper targets with it, so I can't tell you about its "terminal" performance.

I've heard a number of people complain about misfires and shooting dirty with both UMC and some of the USA brand ammo, but the green box UMC and the white box USA brands I buy locally work just fine in my 9MM and my .45s, and I've never had a misfire with either. Kinda wonder sometimes what people expect, or if some just like to p--- and moan about most anything when shooting. Firing a gun does leave residue regardless of what kind of ammo being used, and some guns seem to prefer a different brand or bullet weight than others but for most shooting the UMC is pretty darned good.

It's actually cheaper right now at Bass Pro Shops. $9.99 for a box of 50 and $20.99 for a box of 100. So much for a bonus pack. Right now it is an extra 10% off in the store, but I check and the prices are online as well.

I use UMC HP 230 grain in my .45's with no problems. I've actually kept them in my P220/mags in the nightstand drawer for PP issues that may arise at home after trying them out a bit. I use Double Tap loads in most of my guns for personal protection from two and four-legged critters, but that hot stuff could be a drag when shooting in an enclosed space. I'd hate to have to deter somebody and blow mine and my wife's ears out at the same time.

That is surely the FMJ in yellow boxes, not the hollowpoints. Although, not a bad price (relative) for FMJ.

Yep, I've shot a few boxes of Remington-UMC 9m/m ammo thru a variety
of 9m/m handguns, without any problems. True, its pretty dirty; but for
the price, I can live with that~!

dirty, big flash but it does expand OK when I shoot it into wet pack or water hugs.

they do fragment a bit, but they do the job pretty well. I like WWB JHP better though. I use the UMC as a function test for all my guns.

A little dirty, however for those with handloaders at home, get the component bullets!!! Anything over 1200 fps, they open up just like the Golden Sabres from the same. A little personal testing showed nice expansion even with denim and bathtowels. Just need to put a little stank on em!

The JHP works fine. Never had any problems. A little more flash and recoil than other brands and a little dirty.
