picked this little gem up about two months ago. I'll have to check the serial number, but I think it's about an early 2002 gun. S&W Model 60/LS, 3" heavy barrel 38 Special. Great gun for the nightstand or light hiking in the woods of central PA. Removed the original factory wood grips and installed a new pair of rubber boot grips. Now, much easier to shoot!

Here, take a look... :)

Nice gun. I'm pocket-carrying a S&W 637 2-1/2"bbl with a S&W factory full-boot CT grip right now, and it's easily my favorite "little revolver". I dearly love my 3"bbl M64 also.

I love the look of the smooth but slighty matt finish. It's so much nicer and quality lookng than the common brushed finish on the bigger guns they make.

I say it needs a wood version of those rubber boot grips to really shine. But if the rubber is good to shoot with then form follows function.

It is indeed nice-looking. Like you, I'm appreciative of a good, well-formed piece, and man enough to carry it even if it does say "LadySmith" on it. (The other day, I was missing one of my plastic sandwich containers I use for lunch at work, and had no issues showing up with my sandwich in my daughter's pink one with Disney Princesses on it!)
I like the 3-inch barrel; the only other LS revolvers I've seen before were the 2-inch ones.

I would happily carry a Ladysmith

a man that is skilled with gold is a goldsmith
a man that is skilled with silver is a silversmith
a man that is skilled with women...

Very nice revolver. Is that one old enough to have a factory trigger job done on it? The current Lady Smiths come stock with a trigger job as part of the Lady Smith package.

i bought these two 60,s in the mid 80,s. three inch heavy barrel square butt 38 spls and had them engraved for my sons. they have never fired them,i keep them as they move around alot with the jobs they have. eastbank.

My wife bought a 3" M36 in 1980 or there bouts. Never been fired. I have never sold it, even after she passed. I think I might pull it out and take another look.

I like the look at this ladysmith and may look into getting a 38+P capable Smith like that one.

She looks great wearing that new black dress. Fills her out nicely. Much better than the skimpy little outfit the factory fitted her for. Makes her butt look just right now. :D

and that purse... to DIE for. ;)

I have always had a special fondness for the 3" barrel J frame. Gives you a better sight radius and feels like it has just the right amount of weight out front for a perfect balance in your hand.

Five shot 3" revolvers are sweet guns. I've always wanted one of those Lady Smiths and wouldn't worry about what it says on the side. Good score.

To the OP:

That's a really nice pick-up! good2.gif

My collection sort of book-ends that model, with a .38-only Model 640 (no dash) and a Pro-60 in .357. I'm much more inclined to keep the Pro-60 loaded with .38's (unless, perhaps, I'm in the field and anticipating some sort of unlikely but possible large animal attack).

I would love to add a Ladysmith like yours to my inventory. :)

Nice gun. What's different between the LadySmith and a regular model 60? I picked up a model 60-9 no lock in .357 about a year ago. When I get home from the range I'm still smiling .
