... supported ultra-liberal ideals? I had to stop listening to him this week after day after day of his anti-gun and anti-Iraq policy commentaries on his radio program.

I only recall one other comment by him about guns and that was many years ago when he referred to fully auto firearms as "gangster guns." But the other day he went on a rant about how drug lords from Mexico are buying assault weapons, handguns and even Stinger missiles (that's what he said) in Arizona and taking them back to Mexico.

Plus everyday for the week he's gone on and on about how bad our involvement is Iraq is and I swear he's quoting Democratic press releases and talking points.

Is this new or has he always been so Liberal and anti-gun? New or not he sounds like an idiot with his claims that Arizona is supplying Mexican drug lords with weapons of war.

Has Paul Harvey always been anti-gun and ...

Paul Harvey has been Anti-interesting. I would rather drill and tap my toenails for a 3/8" bolt than to listen to 3 minutes of "the rest of the story".
And I like talk radio!

Doesn't his show originate in Chicago? That would explain a lot. I thought I heard that mentioned a time or two when listening to WGN there.

I knew that he was anti-hunting from some of his comments a few years ago when they were trying to ban some sort of hunting (bears, I think) in Maine or some such place. And someone told me he was anti-trapping as well.

I didn't realize just how liberal he was until the Iraq thing came up day after day with him calling it a "strange war" or "weird war" or whatever.

It's just too bad that he comes on just before Rush on the station we listen to out of DFW. I really enjoyed it when Fred Thompson subbed for him a couple months ago. I just tune him out now for the 15 minutes he's on the air.

He's a little bit each of senile, ignorant, a shill for subpar companies, and uninteresting.

I don't know that I'd class him a liberal or conservative; probably more or less moderate, but a moderate statist.

I have always liked him
But then I have never listened to political commentaries
I just like his "Rest of The Stories"

He always speaks.......... with too many.......... pauses.................... for me. Could be.......... he's just.......... a slow.................... reader. Could be.......... he's just got.......... chapped.................... lips.

The most schocking thing to me about this thread...

... is learning that Paul Harvey is still alive... and still on the air

And now for the rest of the story...

I WOULD RATHER STICK MY HAND IN A WOOD CHIPPER THAN LISTEN TO HIS LIBERAL BABBLE AND BS ADVERTISEMENTS> > >

three million some odd years ago

a dinosaur was chewing on a bone, millions of years later, Tom Cruise gave his mother a foot massage when he was 12 years old!
That dinosaur stole my bone!
I'm.........Paul........Harvey.........

I've always had to turn the dang channel when he came on, I didn't even know he was an anti

Certainly there are non-Liberals who disapprove of the Iraq war. But I heard him saying the exact same lines that Democratic leaders were saying, like he was reading a script sent to him by Reid or Pelosi. Also, non-Liberals opposed to the war generally don't harp on their opposition constantly. It's the Liberals who tend to go on and on and on about it.

Harvey does broadcast from Chicago and I assume he lives there but he is originally from Oklahoma. I guess he left there a long time ago and if a fully indoctrinated Illinois Liberal, now.

No, Paul Harvey was not anti gun. He said many times good things about guns. He's just about 95 years old and pretty much senile, I would guess.

He said they have socialized medicine in Cuba, they have gun control in Cuba. Why do they want to come here?

I hope none of you mockers ever get old to be laughed at.

If he's too old to know what he's saying maybe he shouldn't be on the air. Of course people who listen to him probably aren't very young either.

I would rather listen to Bobcat Goldwait recite the phone book.

Well that certainly caused me to clean coffee off the monitor . . .

My wife is making me post that "Paul Harvey is a nice man and that she enjoys listening to his radio announcements." and that "just because he is old he is not seenile and is probably not anti-gun and liberal".

I guess thats the rest of the story.
